Kompressor in Comparison !

Postby JPS » Sun Mar 30, 2008 10:50 am

I had a reasonable session with the SS , S and my ZTI as well as a few casts with Shin's TT Ultra-lite.

Going from the lightest of the rods the TTUL , I was amazed at how slim this rod is and how it was able to launch a 112( 4 oz ) sinker to 200 meters with consumate ease. Fantastic for the beach and one I may consider getting for myself in the future.

The S was once again a pleasure to use and produced good distances, the progressive way the butt bends made it very user friendly.

The ZTi is my current tournament rod and one where I am very familiar with its action and distances were as I would expect - top class.

The SS is something special in the way it handles and the amount of power that it can deliver. It does take a bit to get used to as the butt section locks up much faster than the S and my ZTi. Tip recovery was excellent and made the rod feel alive in the hands. I feel that this rod has fantastic potential for me and one which I will enjoy working with.

Video footage will be coming shortly once I get a few problems with my PC sorted.

hello jeremy, regarding the ss , it would be a good few steps up in
power in relation to youre zti, i know you are going to the big-danny
event, do you reckon you will end up using the ss at that event,
best regards steve.

Here is a short clip of my first casts with these rods that I took on Sunday.

I had another short session yesterday and am starting to like the SS in the way it handles.

I will be doing some more test as well as sharing the rods around with a few more people to get their impressions on them as well. This will be done over the weekend so I will post up some more footage on Monday.

Comment , suggestions or recommendations always welcome. :D

Steve ,

There is a strong possibility that I may use the SS at the BD event. :D

kompressor ss

Postby castout » Mon Mar 31, 2008 9:18 pm

hello jeremy, looks great on the ss, very controled, that blank has a
huge amount left to offer, especially on youre style, reels sounds a
bit sick, if you were going to use the ss at the big-danny event, would
suggest sticking with it , neil-macellow always said it took at - least
three months minimum, to really get to know a rod , and feel
totally confident with it, more practice, and even more practice.

all the best jeremy , think big cast big. regards steve.

Thanks for the compliments guys but I feel I will take a while before I am really on top of this rod. I had a session yesterday where I tried some flat arch casting with it and was very supprised at the way the rod launched the lead. Will be having a play on Thursday evening if time permits and will post the vids up for anyone to comment on.

Its amazing how different people spot different issues that need work on and its appreciated.

Also glad to be of any help with others wanting questions answered relative to what I am trying to do.

Regards :D
