Fly presentation for mullets

Postby standerus » Fri May 24, 2013 8:40 pm

Hello!
Wonder if anyone would have some advice on how to present flies for mullets?
I know few spots in which they seems to be present. I can get really close to them sometimes:
Tried to get them on flies, but failed, few times.
I tried slow strip, fast strip, strips with pauses and they are not responding.
Flies I used are diawl bach, crazy charlies, shrimps, polar maguns, some weed lump marabou fly, light nymphs, sedge pupas, red tags, mini cascades and mini salmon shrimp flies and... nothing happens. So I presume it is not the mater of fly but the presentation is not proper.
Still 3 weeks left till Bass can be targeted again, so thought to spend time with mullets.
Any advice?
Except of bread stuff, I would like to go more ambitious way.

Patience - look for instances when they are moving with moving water. Or look for northerlies just as the springs are beginning where there has been deposits of seaweed - maggot soup! You can ' bring them on' by shovelling some of this stuff......
