good value fly reel

Mon Jul 25, 2011 1:54 pm

Looking for some advice on a good value reel - am looking at the Okuma Airframe and the Wychwood Truefly (truefly does look a lovely reel)
can anyone comment on either reel and whether they are suitable for swff?
or any alternatives?

This might be available from Southside or Clonanav http://www.probassfisher.com/2011/05/xactly.html - will work and last for years! So too will the okuma airframe great workhorse and virtually indestructible, cant help with the truefly - most others WILL fail unless you spend a bit I'm afraid - consider a Danielsson maybe...pricey I know.

dont be put off buying Mill ends Ive used them for years now the best quality ones have came from mullarkeys link below as for the delta reel the airframe wins hands down for me..If your looking to start with flies you wont go wrong with surf candys, crazy charlies, flatwings and clousers

+1 on the mullarkeys mill ends. Have been using them for 15 years now and cannot complain about them - they will outlast any flyline you can buy because you trah it and then just replace with another of the 5 lines you bought for 15 quid.
