Right I'm going to try my hand at fluff chucking next year and hoping to tie my own flies ,what are the core materials needed for lures/flies ,I'll mainly be fishing for pollack ,mullet ,seatrout and a bit of exploring for bass .
I haven't fly fished or tied for a few years so it'll be like starting from scratch .

You should get some white and chartreusse bucktail white saddle feathers and some dumbell eyes as well as some flashy material. Hooks in size 1, 2 and 1/0 hooks. Obviously you'll need a vice and thread and bobbin holder. I started using mono thread which is very good as it strong and clear. With that you will be able to tie decievers clousers and other baitfish patterns. These will be pretty good for most patterns and you would just need different colours. There is loads of other things you can get like dubbing for shrimp patterns have a look at uksaltwaterflies or lakelandflytying loads of things there to help. Hope that helps.

Good on ya Ronald. :D
First off I think a ceramic bobbin holder is a must

Bucktail
I use bead chain eyes (cheep!)
Crystal flash

For your Mullet

I've used these to make flies but as yet have not tried them

Olive marabou and olive floss for weed flies

Hope this helps but I'm still very green at this auld lark as well
You could also try a tan clouser or tan crazy charlie for Seatrout in strangford lough. As my only seatrout of this year/my life I caught on a tan clouser (home tied) :D

This site has been a great help to me http://www.ukswff.co.uk/Forum/index.php
