Thanks to everyone who responded.

The event that was being referred to is taking the form of the Bass Fishing Open Day, organised by Ed Mitchell and Jim Hendrick. (Not a "festival"!!) The event takes place in October but time is running out to register.

More info on Jim's blog
"Pier fishing was, indeed, an eccentric, unproductive and extremely dull occupation, and even if we'd posessed the necessary heavy plant we decided not to attempt it." Chris Yates, Out of the Blue.

Hi,
As you may have seen from another post I am just starting out swff, thought I have a lifelong salmon and trout fly fishing of experience to fall back on, if that will be any help to me.
