Forgive me if Im wrong. Is this not rather early for Carlingford. ? I fished it a few years ago and was led to belive by the locals that it tends to fish well end of August or September ?

Cheers

Carlingford

Hello there, my first Carlingford bass this year was taken the after the close season! You can target bass here with a good chance of success from then on. They seem to be showing earlier each year! Saying that the bigger ones tend to show in September and even as late as October given mild weather.

The comp was a complete washout! A strong easterly on the saturday seemed to drive the bass out into the lough and as a result not a single fish was taken! So, you didn't miss much! PM me if you'd like to try it sometime.

Hi Mick

Im glad I stayed at home. Saturday was great fun. We had 4 nice bass to 6 lb and around 30 -40 pollack to 5 lb.

Thats almost as good as Irish fishing. All fish were taken between 1/4 a 3/4 miles offshore I should add.

Im going to have to meet up with you and a certain Dublin restaraunt owner one of these days!

Im half toying with the idea of a trip around 7th September, perhaps down South. Fancy it ?
