Hello all! Anyone thinking of hitting Carlingford Lough this weekend? I'm thinking of giving it a good lash on Saturday.

i went down today!
i had no waders so i bout a set of waist waders not planning to go in too deep!
they leaked within 15 minutes so i didnt last long! too cold, v annoyed!
quite windy, water was rough and dirty! no sign of fish!
bit annoyed about travelling froom belfast for an hour or two wet fishing!
think i need a partner for the next trip!

Very good! Fair play to you for trying! To be honest, I think you'd be as well in the pub when the weather is like that! If there's colour in the water the fluff chucking becomes hard work! Especially if there is any easterly in the wind direction. Tends to stir up the lough and cloud the water. I'll drop you a line the next time I'm heading out.

i only had the fly rod out for a v.short while! then i changed to plugs! it was the only way to get past the wind!(my fly casting isnt great!)
