if you could afford one try a scierra blue water 2, think you could get one from england for about 220e. seen one in cork friday and look a very nice rod, have also heard good reports about the greys rods..

If you're looking for something a bit cheaper but great value check out the Daiwa Wilderness 9'6 9wt - well able to cast big flies in a wind, I have a 10wt on mine and it seems better balanced. Should retail for about 130 euro...

thanks guys

Lumpy €230? this is a use of the word cheap that I was previously unaware of.

at the moment I think I'll have to continue with my trout rod.

I have the wilderness rod and it is pretty nice to cast with havent had too many fish on it yet though :? . There is the shakespeare atlantis rod and its pretty cheap http://www.grahamsonline.co.uk/product.php?ID=3057 thats the first site that came up on google. For a cheap rod I hear its pretty good.

Shakespeare Trion rods are not so bad and you will pick up an 11ft WF9 for less than 100 yo-yo's.

Airflo tec MT is a nice rod rated for an 8/9 line. Not too much of a pole and casts a decent line. Also under 100 quid.
