Postby Drew » Mon Jun 12, 2006 2:10 pm

Myself, Livid and Hairy may be going on another expedition up the Antrim Coast on Saturday, Anyone else interested? I know many will be at the Carrick Contest and will not be able to attend, But its an open offer folks if you fancy heading out for the night.

Alright Phil?

The club has organised a wee trip out of Portballintrae - don't know the name of the boat. jonny Snoddy organised it through a skipper he knows.

I haven't been out on a boat since I was 10 (that was 20 years ago    !!!!!). I am really looking forward to it - lets hope the weather is kind to us.

Any tips on rigs/bait - all suggestions welcome (PM if you prefer).

I have a 20lb boat road (an old DAM model) coupled with a SLOSH 30 and a light spinning rod with FS reel and 30lb braid.....

All advice welcome.

Cheers.

Cushendunn is a safe bet lads tho saying that cushendall isn't bad if you fish it were the golf coarse is and you can float fish it up at the rocks and do some spinning as well. but i have an idea  what about glenarm breakwater it fishes good coming in to darkness just watch the lights this time drew LOL the Beach is fishing i have been told so we could try that and i could spin the river see if i could get a salmon or two at high water always wanted to try spinning it and the good thing about glenarm lads is its not as far away so you could fish for longer :?:

Looking up Tides for Cushendun on Saturday, looks Iffy, We'll be Fishing the Drop, and I personally don't think this place would produce terribly well on the dropping tide, We have 2 Choices, go North, or Go South, I personally reckon Mervs Idea is Perfect, You've always got some Depth at Glenarm Breakwater, and fishing it at night produces the goods... What do the rest of the lads think?

yeah cmon lads give us some support stu and the guys have done a great job getting this thing up and running and from experience they run a great comp so come on you can always head up the coast afterwards and fish a rising tide as opposed to a falling one

Right, Looks like we'll be in Glenarm at about 7.30/8pm if anyone is at all interested in getting out for the night.
