right lads i will start the ball rolling here how many of you would be interested in a meet for casting and learning about casting??the event will probably take place on a beach but i would like to check out the interest first before i go any further.it does not matter if you think you cant cast as i hope to be able to provide some help,it will be done on a fun basis and we wont be takeing ourselves to seriously.but it could be the start of some thing a lot bigger.cheers john.

some farmers are not that keen on lending out fields to casters due to crack offs not being found and shockleader all over the shop .think it will be a beach until we get organised and see what numbers turn up.

casting

Postby AG » Wed Jan 11, 2006 12:58 pm

i would be to but the days of casting on an open beach i think are gone . to many dangers a field is much better as regards safety crack offs fly to far now and you cant control the public they do what they like

Casting in the North

Postby Longrod » Thu Jan 12, 2006 8:55 pm

Hello all,

I'd be interested depending on the date. I had lessons a few years ago from a friend in Bangor but was wondering if anybody knew of other teachers in the North. My job can take me all over the North for weeks at a time and i'd like to progress a bit further and cure a few bugs i've picked up along the way. My problem is that I don't get to Bangor too often these days for help.

Would there be proper instructors at this event if it happens? I missed out on the casting scene in the North the first time around but could maybe support it this time if it gets up and running.

well in every sport there is a right way to do something and the way people think it should be done, most people are self taught from video or watching others .but going to a proper instructor will teach you the right way from the start so you have no time to learn bad habits .without doubt going to an instructor is time well spent and will pay of in the long run.
