Ah crap

that seems to be the general reaction , alot of pms and lads wondering why , alot of guys only chance to get tuition etc , it makes you entry fee to the show better value to if you get an hours tuition ,

Swords Show Meet?

Postby daminim » Fri Feb 04, 2011 9:57 am

Pitty sportscast wont be there. :( but I've heard that the show are charging an arm and a leg for stands. A few of th tackle shops I've been to have said it to me. Tough enough these days to be in retail without the hassle of being overcharged to promote your venture. And it's not just this show but alot of these expos are doing the same - kerrazzy prices.

To be fair this show has Mary Gavin Hughes who is a fantastic skipper and will put you onto big fish. She was recently on Tight lines on sky, and shes Irish.Glenda powell is also on the bill, whom i was told recently would put you to shame on the fly end of things. But that said - it could be a far bigger show if they lowered their prices. I know a few retailers who for the reason of it being too expensive pulled out. maybe a bit more variety too, although i haven't been to it yet so cant really critique it for its content.

Seems to be always mostly aimed at fresh water fishing. The casting was a big plus for sea anglers to go. I'm not bothering me arse going now. The few stands that have sea tackle will either have stuff I don't use or I'll buy gear that I won't need. It's a shame that SCI won't be there.

SCI not going to be there? That's good to know.

I was debating whether to go or not, hemming and hawing, going one day not going the next.

Knowing SCI won't be there has helped make a final decision.

Mind's made up now.

Not going.

Weatherwise SCI could be lucky not to be there. It looks like wind and rain esp on Sunday.

I'll be there (indoors) on Sat & till early afternoon on Sun. Hope to put some faces to names.
