E-bay what a bargain

I got 2 yes 2 tip lights for £4,49p + 99p p&p 2 tip lights for under £5.50 there £5.00 for one normally brilliant I got them today and there working great 2 blue ones :D

Have you ever had any probs with the line wrapping around the tip lights mid-cast?

prefer jack Daniels myself, back on topic, I use sellotape to attach tip lites and try and cover areas line can catch, besides you don't usually cast as far at night

your supposed to take the lights off prior to casting...

i know they have the little stopper to stop them sliding off.. but thats there for when you strike into a fish..

bells for me, as said above no matter what i did line always got snagged on the lights.

good tip tap (solas) and bells

itstime to move out of the dark ages lads. all decent tackle shops stock reflective rod tape, just whip it around the top of the rod and when your head light shines on it it lights up like xmas, no line snags ever

The best thing about the bell is that you don't have to stare at a rod tip day or night which means you don't get a sore neck .I better stop cause I am sounding like quasi moto now ... :lol: :lol: da bells da bells and no I don't look like him?

looks like i need bells for my beachcaster so if the bells ringing its a fish you could fix on the carp bite alarms on your tripod i normally use reflective tape and a good led headlamp does the job :lol:

yea jude i have had problems with the line wrapping around it but you get in to a routine checking the rod before you cast i think all good fishermen should do this for some times the line will wrap around your top eye but i have never had it in mid cast

I made one myself clothes peg small curtain eye hook and for the bell well I have to confess the baby's rattle had three so it works just fine with two and she didn't miss it . you can get the bells from any tackle shop but I have also found that the ones of a cats collar work best.... here kitty kitty...Lazy :lol:

I use a multiplier so before I cast I gently leave my thumb off the spool if the spool runs free all's ok. If it's slow to turn I'd check the top of the rod to clear the problem

Ya reflective tape is far superior to lights and bells. Lasts longer and you dont have to worry bout line getting caught on it.

I've never had a problem with line wrapping around the tip light and I've been using them for something like 10 years.

I bind the light on with insulating tape, which also keeps moisture out.

I leave the light on during casts without problems.

The newer ones don't just light up your tip, they also cast enough light on the beach to stop you tripping over things. This lets me save my headlight battery.

i put mine on with thread the same way you would a new eye and use stuff called D O P E and if you don't believe me i have a pic here think its a lacquer they used in WW1 for the spotter planes

I whip the lights on barley above the second eye from the top of the rod. this way, a loop can not go around the light unless it comes around the back of the eye. I have never had a problem since moving the light to this position.

Yep. Should have said I do the same. Or is it barely below the second eye. Can't remember. Anyway, never had a problem.

I assume everyone is whipping it on the spine of the rod on the opposite side to the eyes ... :D
