Penn Ruffstuff shockleader and 18lb line.
This line came in a bundle with the mag xtra and powerstix.
I have to admit I am very disappointed in this stuff. Everytime time before a cast it coiled and had to be fixed before every cast on sunday. I haven't had this problem with any of the other shock's or line. I am disappointed in it but glad I didnt actually buy the stuff of the rack.
Has anyone else had this problem with the same line?

I've got the shockleader from veals on the 3 for 2 offer and find it fine. I prefer any of the shock brands from suffix and use them for my heavy snoods. I bought a 1000 yards of penn premium 80lbs from veals as bulk shock for rough ground but its very high diameter, very stiff and a nightmare to knot. Not one of my better ideas.

I found the shock leader to have far to much memory.
I only put the line on just before the weekend and it is definitely coming off.

Have to agree , saw it for myself on sunday did not like the look of it..
I have been using Diawa infinity duo 14lb test green/black very happy with this line, casts great .Lazy

I use good old daiwa sensor in standard and tournament..

Isn't Diawa sensor very thick for its stated lb strain. I think 20lb line is .45. I've used suffux tiatanium (spelling) and stick with it.

I got some tritainum off my friend and it nested up every cast.

Something wrong with your casting Midget.... Just kidding, must have been a bad batch mate, Suffix Tritanium is a lovely limp, soft line that sits really nicely on a multiplier I have found. What BS were you using?

One of things I worry about with lines that are to narrow is that it might be more affected by damage. I saw in one of the veals catalougues recommending not to use teklon gold for rough ground because of this. The other thing is low diameters don't match some reels like going below 0.35 on a 525mag. I've just bought got some sakuma crystal 16lb 0.33 for my clean ground fishing on my mag elite to improve distances but have only recently got it. As for titanium I use the 15lb 0.35 for clean ground and 20lb 0.4 for mixed and find it great. Theres alot of fans of this line around. One of the pains with line is getting a consistent source of the one you like. Every time I go into the local tackle shop they've a different one.

never used penn lines.. anytime i look at a spool there's something about it that screems stay away.. but thats my opinion..
ever since i started with suffix tritanium i've never had reason to look back..
soft smooth and easy on the thumb (multiplier), have a fixed spool filled with the stuff too.. it literally flies off the spool :D

I use the .31 trilene on my elite and it casts lovely, but I only use that reel on clean ground anyway. Havent put it on a 525 yet but will try it sometime to see. The handy thing with trilene is I got bulk spools brought home from the states and im still using them. Im not a big fan of Tritanium, had it in 15lb didnt like it, prefer trilene.

agreed! penn long distance surf is good. use it on light fixed spool. great knot strenght and not one tangle from coiling. have used it in 15+18lb. it's alright but burns the thumb on retrieve on a multiplier. would not buy it again- only in 10lb. for fixed spool. the sakuma night crystal is popular but i like suffix so much i amn't even bothered tryin it!

trilene is good if fishin 20lb straight through with no shock for lobbing in weedy rocky spots for bass. will last a long time on a reel without the need for regular changing.
sakuma rig body is lovely! they do a great shockleader too. nice and limp and a low diameter too. the 80lb. is good as shock with added safety factor and is equivelent diameter to cheaper mono's of 60/70lb.

suffix shockleader is good for pulley's in 80lb.

IMHO the Sakuma shockleader is the beast I have ever used, not a bad price either.
Mainline...Sufix Synergy is my favorite followed by Ultima F1 and Ultima Tournament Gold.
I had heard the Penn line was good from quite a few people, but sadly I think in the future the word Penn will not have the same meaning to anglers that it has had over the years.
