Zziplex & shop

Sorry for my poor english.

Hi, my name is Jordi and I write from barcelona (spain).

Recently I buy 3 blanks of v-max f2 But still they have not come.

Is all the time in the habit of being late in zziplex blanks that the shop haven't got in stock?

I buy the blanks in Tonys tackle.

What do you think about this shop and this rods for a clean sand beaches?

I have ordered from Tony's tackle 1.5 weeks ago a new headlamp. I generally dont use this tackle shope but it was the only one that had the lamp i wanted . . .anyway to cut a long story short a week later it wasnt sent so i rang up the guy in the shop, told him i needed it for a compo this weekend.
He was supposed to send it wednesday this week . . still no sign of it!
Never again will i use this shop!

So, my advice would be to keep in touch with the shop . .but i know that Zziplex blanks are slow to get hold of . . .

These are great rods for clean beaches over here, very good to cast also . . .

I also had a bad experience with Tony's Tackle a few year ago and if i had found a way of getting my hand down the line of the phone i would have strangled the bas****. I would never do business with him again i waited for two months for a pair of rods that he said were in stock i got fogged off so many times with stupid excuses. However that's not helping your plight, most of the tackle shops don't carry a big stock if any of custom made rods so when you order they order from the manufacturer its cheaper for them to order in bulk so this is normal to be waiting. This does not stop you from trying to speed up the process like taking a trip over and waiting outside Tony's Tackle with a baseball bat. other than that you may wait

tony will be over here at the Angling show in swords 17-18th feb with a stall full to the brim of over priced gear as per norm!! :roll: just in case anyone wants to vent any thoughts at him, would make some great viewing,, :twisted: ive not used his mail order before but have heard lots of the same from others,,

I've had this trouble myself in the past with Tony's tackle, usually the wait time for items to be delivered. :roll: I suppose it could be put down to the postal service in my area! I wouldn't be sure? :shock: He was over at the show in Belfast recently with alot of Abu reels! To me, they didn't seem have the usual build quality of the one's that I'm used to handling but that's only a feeling I had and no matter who I mentioned this to, all of them seemed to have the same opinion! which definately made me think. :shock: He also a few Zziplex rods and blanks with him. He was trying to sell me his dreamcast 50/50 for £250 and it was well beat about :shock: I turned him down on all offers he told me about, both reel and rods.

I normally deal with Gerry's and hand on heart, have never a bit of trouble with the postal service in my area? :shock: 8) :lol:

yeah, i think that he wont be back in belfast again due to small sales on the both days, perhaps because of highly priced goods that were available for less elsewhere.
IMHO the discounted reels did not feel like the usually quality and smoothness that you get with abu garcia reels too... infact several people that i was talking to commented that they thought similar to myself and that they didnt seem up to the manufacturers usual high standard of quality.

i bought my conoflex highlander from him around 9 years ago and eventually got it 4 weeks after he promised it would be here, brilliant build etc to be fair but i got fed up with the lies i was being told all the time. i think he got fed up with me ringing him at home almost every evening!!! when i didnt get him, i just kept at the other guy in the shop and rang his house number too! :lol: :D

According to telephonic conversation, tony have got the blanks and he shipping me this day, but have passed 10 days and he said that only were late 5 days in coming.

Tomorrow I will call him.
When someone of you wants a Zziplex where he(she) buys it?

Sorry to hear about your problems, not all English Tackle dealers are like that, as Ryan said, try Summerlands they carry a good stock of Zziplex rods.

Am I not right, you can call your credit card company and tell them your problem and that you want to cancel your order with Tony's Tackle, they will refund you and you can buy from Summerlands or some other mail order company.

I hope you get your problem sorted.

Please let us know how you get on....welcome to the site by the way, its good to have a Spanish fishing brother join us, I only wish it was for a better reason.

Today I have spoken with tony and hehas said to me that there was an administrative problem of customs and that already it was solved. That estan of way and this week I will have.

Before tony I had treat with Nick of summerlands, but this man I gave it impossible, 10 mails, and 5 calls in order that he was attending to me, and then other 5 mails without response. So I looked at more shops and thought tony, that the same day of sending an email, answers me.

There becomes I a bit complicated to follow the details of your method of fishing, but I wait to be able to go little by little coming untied and to learn of you. Thanks to god the Internet translators exist!!!

If someone of you does vacations in catalonia and wants to be going to go fishing with a few friends, here I stay and my 2 friends for wat you want.

i buy most of my tackle from gerrys tackle. it usually arrives about 4-5 days after you order it and he is a vey nice man 2 talk 2. very helpful!

On past tuesday, the rods come to me. Now I building the blanks with fuji cmnag and cmnsg for the 3 last rings. And fuji reel seat ls-7.

I'm very happy for this.
