Has anyone used them? i picked a pack up the other day by accident thinking they were something else, since then i've been messing with them at home. they way they are designed they don't seem very reliable, it's extremely hard to shake the lead free. i always used the gemini version and they are extremely reliable.
Just wondering is the breakaway version any good?

Cheers,
Patrick

Hiya Patrick, I use these all the time when fishing rough venues, De Wall etc. I swear by them TBH. The plastic button slides up every time and using 15lb line, constant heavy pressure with maybe the odd quick yank is enough to release the lead and hopefully the fish. I started using them as there is a reef about 20 yards out from The Wall at Monkstown and every time I had a decent cod on, it was murder trying to lift them over it. I found with these, because of the size of weights used it was more often than not these which snagged so the release clips really helped. I want to try them on a few rough ground Clare marks as well but havent had the chance yet.

i have used them a few times most of the time my line broke but when the plastic button rises up this can give enough movement to pull free i now use genie breakers they work every time all the time

Find the plastic button can get wedged to the metal if sand particles get wedged in between when fishing from a beach
