Just wondering what people think of these if they have used or seen them. Also if anyone has dealt with penn if an item breaks or needs fixed.

I am looking at the penn 13ft powerstix comes with penn carry tube.

£69 from Southend angling so cheap but hoping i got a bargin still so let me know.

Thank you

The Penn powerstix range is a cut down version of their PPT rods and are very capable fishing rods. I have not heard of any of them breaking except through severe abuse so you should have no worries there.

They are more powerful than the k2 range and will cover a wider scope of venues/tactics although the bite detection will not be as good when targeting smaller species or flatties.

Penn as a company have a good reputation for customer service, you need not worry there......I am sure a few on this board will second that.

I do indeed Pete. Really nice rod that would be at home chucking up to 5oz grippers off a clean beach into a surf or down to 2oz leads in easturies and the likes. Lovely slim blank and bite detection is very good, although nothing like the triplex I have, that makes a small flattie bite look huge. I think it is a good allround rod that would be at home on a number of venues. A bit light for rough groud work though, but then it wasn't build for that.

The nice thing about mine was I picked iut up of Tony's Tackle last year at the angling show for €210 with a mag 525.
