If you mean normal footwear as opposed to wellies, there are severel good makes, one of the important factors is to make sure there is a goretex inner and that the tongue and upper are all one piece. This helps elininate leakage. Some people prefer to wear slightly higher boots but beware when walking for long distances these may become uncomfortable. If you have these try not tieing the tob few lace studs. Try any of the military mags for a good reference. At the moment I have wear Haix but I have a few to chose from.

Hi
I am still using my Diawa Moonboots with the liners, which i have used for years, replacing the liners a few times.

When I use waders in the cold, I use normal socks with a pair of neoprene socks over them, seems to work for me OK.

I wear hiking boots from Millets or Tizo that are waterproof with light socks in the summer and a pair of thermals for winter use and find no problems with them.

Have a pair of Mendl boots -

top boots that have lifetime warranty - comes with hefty price over €200 :(

absolute comfort - heat and totally waterproof - 8)

lot of soldiers use them regularly for rough stuff.......

team em up with any of the goretex breathable socks and your on a winner
