Has anyone got one of they above. I was looking at the ones in the veals catalougue that you strap round your waste. I was thinking about the shimano as it was cheaper and had 8 lure tubes.
Anyone seen one of these in the flesh?

ive a william joseph waist bag which i use for flyfishing which is very similar to the imax one. there a gift for roving, plenty of capacity for all the equip u would need for a plugging or flyfishing session. the shimano appears to be limited in the amount of tackle it could hold besides spinners

I got the Shimano one just the other day. Haven't field tested it yet. I got it because it was smaller than the IMAX.

It has compartments for 12 lures. (4 of the tubes are double width with dividers and the dividers lift up, which helps to get shorter lures out.) It will take lures up to about 13 or 14cm long.

The front pocket is small, with space for things like a spare spool of leader, some spare swivels and trebles, a very small scales, etc. There are a couple of webbing loops on the front which would take a foreceps, pliers, etc.

I have the IMAX

Looking at Teachers pictures of the shimano i'd go for it
The Imax has a soft lining, my plugs are forever getting snaged on it
Yes the Imax is bigger ,but what do you need to carry for a plugging trip?

... but it's entirely useless for storing lures :)
