If it's the SRE you are talking about I think it's a cracker for light line work. I have used it both with a fixed spool and multiplier and really can't fault it. Bite detection is really good and if your using braid you could detect a fish fa*t beside your line.
Not sure about the BB though

I have the Century SRE 5 MTR rod, the rod is very light with tight fitting joints no problems disconnecting them. It casts nice with a 4oz or 3oz lead 5oz feels quite heavy and a bit uncontrolled for me when the rod is so long and I'm over 6 foot. Ive hit some of my best distances with this rod casting OTG probably besause of the bigger casting ark, the bite detection is excellent aswell. If you've any more queries I'll try and help you out.
Cheers
John.

Sorry ID I spelt it wrong meant to say SRE. Rigged to Fish and Norfolk I was hoping to use it for flats and small fish of the surf beach..do you think it would be too light for that stuff(and surf beach conditions) and maybe I should go for the BB?

The SRE as far as I'm aware is a superior rod, slightly more tippy than the BB. The BB has an all through action. A must for flounder work, the tip is fantastic. It will take dogs etc also so don't worry about the weight of the fish your going to catch (hopefully) It would be no good for the rough though

The SRE would be great for Flats with it's excellent bite detection, I ave,nt used it yet in rough conditions and I'm not sure how it would handle any reviews I've read people say it can be quite diffucilt to handle these long rods because they'll catch the wind more. When the weather gets rougher I fish with the 14 Foot Penn RoughStuff which I'm very happy with picked it up last year on the sales for 100 euro.
Cheers John.

henrys or soutside shoud be able to sort you out,
im not one for centurys at all (EVER) , but i did have a few chucks with a BB a while ago on 150g and was plesently suprised, slim, lovely action, plenty of power in the mid section with a nice tip.
The SRE i thought was a bit sloppy, ok for light stuff but when you wind them up they lack good power flow.
just my opinion.
