525 mag

bought a new 525 recently and oiled the reel normally but it is very noisy when i cast, help?

have you checked the line balance on the spool this is what makes the most noise when the spool is out of balance.

I've got 3 of them, got 2 of them at the same time....2 very quiet one makes a noise...strippped it, inter changed bearing...still makes a noise, ended up changing that many parts around from one reel to another I forgot what reel was what but still had one noisy reel :lol:

I asked Mackellow, he said he came across the same thing. End of the day they all cast as well as each other, but one screams a bit more when cast, they are all quiet on the retrieve.

If I bought a new one now and it made a noise it wouldnt bother me.

have a similar problem. 3 penns at oiled and set up identically. 2 run real nice and one is a niosy bugger! tried messin around with it(swoppin the spools...) and it's still the same. i have given up! lifes too short!

thanks lads i thought maybe i hadnt oiled it properly but if it isnt just me then to f**% with it!
