not sure about the colour but that style looks like a ron thomson fightfish - veals recommend them for bass in the blue mackerel colour

Teacher Would you really fish that lure for Bass :?:

Just goes to show different strokes for different folks. Personally I'd never fish a lure this bright. I tend to fish natural colours and some mackeral colours. I do have one firetiger colour Thunderstick that I fish at Dawn. Have had a few bass on that lure.

youd have no problem getting pollack on that - i think its usually good to have a few different colours with you especially if the weather is changeable between bright spells and overcast

My favourite plug for bass is a Rapala J13S (jointed black and silver) but I've successfully used the FRG (flourescent orange and gold) variant too. I know someone who only uses that colour and has had more double digit bass than I can remember :D

Interesting...... and thanks for the reply. Never had a double figure Bass on a lure. PB is 8.5lb on a spinner (toby) Best on a plug is 7.5lb on a YoZuri Crystal Minnow, Black and silver at Dusk.

I like the J13 black and silver myself but only have the F (floating) version. Tends not to get much swimming time, as I find they fish too Deep for a lot of the spots I fish.

If a J11 won't give you the distance you want, I've found using the J13 with the rod tip higher allows you to work the plug higher in the water, although the action isn't as good.

As poppers become more popular, a lot of people avoid divers but I would always try both. I've fished unsuccessfully with poppers only to get straight into fish after changing to a diver. :)
