has anyone used the range of fixed spool reels by the above manufacturer, if so , how do they compare to the likes of penn, shimano, daiwa okuma etc?
they get a good write up in the mags, but sure most stuff does...!

they are the reel and rods of choice in spain and the med in general. i spend have the year in spain and have been using them out there for a bit now.

i can say without a problem the reels are strong and well made. as for the rods they are better than most rods we have on the market. alot of the england champs use them know see tsf all there writers have them too.

iam about to buy 2 14ft rods and reels. iam waiting to next trip to spain as cheaper.

in europe they use more rods than we do, we in uk-ireland have been using mulitpliers and 12ft rods for years. and only the last 2 years have we been thinking of using larger rods. over all as last post said they as good if not better than anything we have on market.

I don't think you can go far wrong with Grauvell stuff. I have a Grauvell 14' Rod (Tekron) and also a light spinning reel. The quality and performance of both are very good. If you are looking for a reasonably priced beach reel, the Century EX got a very good write up in TSF recently.

I have the Zeus fixed spool. Lovely reel, very robust and smooth. The reel has three aluminium spools, all of varying capacity which is handy. Would have no problem recommending this reel to anyone.

I have the zeus too, as steve says a lovely reel, my only fault with it is the line clip! Too small to fit your leader around! A small complaint to have though.
