At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Rockfish HTO ML 7-28gm

Postby cormology » Wed Jun 25, 2014 3:49 pm

Howdy folks I am back lure fishing the last few years, I picked up this rod late last year but I have only recently caught fish on it.
I had some decent bass from the shore and also some nice pollack from the boat.
The rod is a 2 piece, 7ft 10 and 7-28gram
I was a bit reluctant at first about this rod as it feels so light and very thin at the top.
However it performs brilliant, the fish were actually bigger than they felt during the fight, I was very impressed.
I had bass to 5lb and pollack to 6lb and it handle them without a problem.
It is a lovely light rod casts well and has a nice meaty backbone and great shock absorption.
I have it paired with a Gunki SW 300, the best thing about the rod is €45 brand new.
Anyone else have one of these.
Long time no sea.
