Ex-Army Issue Goretex Smocks

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Ex-Army Issue Goretex Smocks

Postby alby » Mon Dec 30, 2013 5:48 pm

Done a bit of research online for new waterproofs & I don’t mind spending a few quid for something durable that will keep me dry in our sometimes inhospitable climate!

A lot of guys in the UK (especially game anglers) have started using these to great fanfare. I got one in November and have used it a few times since – very impressive, not a hint of a leak so far (just as well) and because they are made from Goretex (breathable) you don’t sweat up like you can do in others.

€50 delivered to my door from an Army Surplus store in the UK – I like to support my local tackle shops, but I have not found a good smock that fits the purpose since the Imax Lime Green. So decided to take a punt on this. Deffo worth a look for the money.
