What fixed spools are you using on the beach ,I have gone through two this year so far grauvell ones looking for a good one that will last (not grauvell ones).I use multipliers for all rough stuff ,so something to suit 16ft continental style rod

I'm using a Penn surfblaster 8000. Nice, trouble-free reel. Great line lay

I use the Shimano Ultegra C14 XSA great reel, bit pricy but you get what you pay for. Also have the penn affinity 8000, a good reel also and well worth a look at.

As Bigsod says, you really do get what you pay for. The Ultegras are the onloy job if youre looking for something that will last.

Shimano Ultegra C14 XSA is finished up (production stopped) and they are starting sales on the new model next month?

I would wait for the new model..... anyway i don't think you will be able to get a Ci4 XSA 10000 at least not in Ireland.
