To be 100% honest with you mate I wouldn't recommend any other rods but conoflex zziplex or century try to find one second hand if you can't the next best thing would be the greys range

There is a Supercast daiwa rod in the for sale section for a steal at 100 euro. Failing that Penn powerstix and Shakepeare Salt range all very good too on a budget.

try out the tf gear range,i bought a new tfg delta 14ft multiplier rod,,had its first test last nite and very well impressed,,,nice long blank, much lighter thank the sonic sk4,,tip not as stiff but well able to bang an 8 oz out aswell as cope with mixed to rough ground,,,more sensible tip to see the small flatties nippling aswell as getting a nice arc in the rod tip when casting,,sliding reel seat for reel adjustment and a good white tip for night fishing,,,,just to let you know,,one of the sections is 7ft 6" and the other is 5ft 4",,i didn't realise this this it came,,,just letting you know for your motor space etc,,,I bought it along with a diawa slosh 30 multiplier,in which I just find them as a winch,,all in for about 260 euro roughly and inside the box was a free fisheagle rig wallet,,,was very well impressed with the supplier,,,,, www.fishingmegastore.com

I have a 13ft Penn powerstix which is the first rod I pick up for bait fishing as I fish a lot of mixed and rough ground marks. I also have a Shakespeare salt and a trabucco fostoria revolution which are fine rods too. The trabucco makes very light work of sending a 3 or 4 ounce lead a good distance with little effort and has good bite detection making it a great clean ground rod.
