Anyone any experience with this rod and reel combo??

Ye i use Daiwa rods only these days superb rods and the super cast is a great rod for the money ya wont be disappointed and the 7ht mag is a superb reel to go with it Daiwa make some cheap gear as well but there high end gear is next to none i use z range rods and a Daiwa tournament fir most my fishing and they are seriously top notch i also have a supercast bass rod for flounder fishing that i wouldn part with

slosh 20 or penn 515 would be my choice as will suit all your fishing ground those 7hts are clean beach reels

I was an Abu man all me life then fancied sumtin different so got the 7ht and haven't looked back! Great reel! Supercast is good value for money! :D

Have the very same set up and it is great, the rod has great bite detection and you can feel every twist and turn of the fish on the retireve. The reel is super and you will get great distance but make sure you look after it, give it a good clean down after every use and you will have no problems :wink:

Speices 2012 : codling, Bass (pb), Flounder

Speices 2013 : Codling, thornie, Bass, whiting, coalie, flounder,dogfish,painted ray, Sea trout, Turbot

Species 2014 : Codling, thornie, turbot, flounder

2011 PB List - Ray 7lb
2012 PB List - Bass 11lb
2013 PB List - Painted Ray 10.5lb, 1lb 3b rockling, 10lb Thornback Ray, 1lb Sea Trout
