Penn 525 mag 2

Hi Lads,
I'm very interested in buying the new penn mag 525 multiplier reel. I want to use it for heavier fishing. Anybody fishing with this reel & there views on it. Thanks

I use the 525 Mag2. I have it loaded with 18lb Ultima Red ice and 50lb Penn shock leader. I have to say I can find no fault with it. It casts effortlessly and I have not managed to birdsnest it once (yet)

The magnetic cast control is easy to use and effective, the star drag is progressive and the build quality is bomb proof. Lots of people will say the Abu is the better caster but my opinion there is no better all rounder than the 525 mag2. Over rough ground or with a hard fightin bass you will not want any other reel.

A no brainer, buy one in the morning I love the thing

i have 1 at the moment and il be buying another soon very good reel and good cranking power in it,i love the abu 6500s for casting but the penn 525 mag 2 is a good casting reel and nice to fish with

i have a 525 slidey mag thats about 15 years old and besides a new set of bearings its still original and casts a treat if the new ones last as long it has to be the best investment you,ll ever make i have loads of abu,s but if i,m heading out to fish in rough conditions the 525 always comes too
