Looking to buy fixed spool reel

Postby Eddiewamblambbam » Thu Jan 12, 2012 9:29 pm

Hi just wondering if anyone could give me any ideas on what sort of a reel to get as my old one just decided to pack it in daiwa jupiter z 5500.

the reverse mechanism wont kick in, only realised it was broke after I cast in one day, felt like smashing it with a sledge hammer ,

I would like to spend maybe 80-100 euro's depending on quality and im not well up on what reels will last in the long run

Also would it be cheaper to get one from the uk or are most tackle shops around similar in price ??

Cheers Eddie

go for a penn or Shimano and it'll stand the test of time. The penn captiva is 55 euro and a few more in the sub 100 euro mark . Shimano are fantastic too shop around and you'll find plenty of deals

The angling show is on in Swords in Feb. It might be worth hanging on and having a look there. If you know what you want, you can pick up the odd bargain.
I don't fish to catch fish. I just like using the gear.
If you think I am narky now, you should hear me when I'm in bad humour.

another vote for shimano. if you go to the angling show you should pick up an aerlex for small money or possibly haggle a biomaster down to your budget :D
