long rod question

long rod question

Thinking of going over to fixed spool/long rod combo,and have being trying to locate a shakespeare red metal,without much luck,have been told that the penn twin tip affinity is the same rod from the same stable...any body throw some light on this.... :?

I believe they are much the same but the penn affinity is slightly stronger, the affinity is an excelent rod best long rod ive used.

I thought the penn was a replacement for the contender shane :shock: thanks for the reply man

hi willie they have stopped makeing the red matle twim tip but the penn twin tip is the same blank with a bit more power in it.
and from what i heard from ppl useing the penn they all love it.

i have the 16 ft penn and its a good rod alright, a bit awkward being 16ft, i tryed the 14 ft and 15 ft versions and they seem really nice but im not sure would the shorter versions cast as far. i also looked for a red metal before i bought mine but ended up getting the penn.
