Century HPR - My brothers view

As a few of you know my younger brother is both a mad keen fisherman as well as my personal trainer so he has the benefit of hijacking a lot of my gear to use and play around with. I feel however that I have made a fatal error in giving him my 7'6" HPR rod to try out before I have . As I got both rods , that being the two piece 7'3" model which I have mated to a Daiwa Luvias and the heavier 7'6' one piece with the detachable butt section which has a heaver rating which which is the one now looking like being taken for good

Here is his short report on the rod so far , as you will see Shane has done a lot better on the Snapper than I have this season, these fish were taken on two of his last three trips , he dropped two on the second trip but made ammends last Friday whilst I couldn't make it out with him.

On My first Outing i fished with a soft Plastic and felt every touch and head shake, once the snaper decided to make my lure his meal, the rod performed beautifully. From casting extremely light soft plastics ridiculous distances to me being able to feel every lightle rise and fall of the lure .

When the fight began the rod showed its true colours with its sensitive tip soaking up the thunderous first run of what was to be the first of many. Then loading beautifully when i wanted to put the pressure back onthe big red whtch weighed in at 5.2kg.

Next trip landed 5 3to4kg snaper usin bait 4 of them caught on the century rod . Which performed fantastically with a sensitive tip and superb pulling power with out ever feeling stressed.

( Here you can see the slim dimensions of the rod and the nice size of the reds :D )

As you can see from the smile on his face he likes the rod a lot and it may prove a problem getting it back in my own collection - still he does train me in his gym
