Advice on Multiplier

As the title says I need some advice. I'm looking at buying a new reel, and feel it's time to get my first multiplier. I'd be looking at pairing it with a 11' 6" bass rod for bait fishing, as well as a bit of spinning for big pollack. Am I wasting my time?

If you intend using it spinning, my advice is stick with the fixed spool reel.

As bigsod has said stick with a fix spool for spinning.

if ur planning on spinning i would stick to a fixed spool but if u have ur heart set on a multiplier i would go with the good old 525 mag extra will cope with anything its a good casting reel and also strong enough to use over rough ground.

I would also say use a fixed spool for the spinning ,as for the multiplier, dont get one with a levelwind, take the plunge and learn thumbing the line on the reel. My first multiplier had a level wind and when i started using the other ones, my casting was better and i had a lot less bird nests as the shock leader wasnt getting caught in the levelwind.

I stepped up this year with my first multiplier I bought a 515 mag and have used it on every ground never having a problem. Probably lose a little more over the 525 but just enjoyed the smaller reel.
I havent birded it yet "touch wood" due to the magnetics being on full and then Ive been slowly knocking it of so Im about half way and still doing ok. You need to learn sometimes u'll end up with a little nest just take of the drag and pull it free. Anything bigger may end up in line replacement. haha
I use 20lb mono and then a 50lb shock leader never seem to have any worries even when snagged I just tighten down and put the the tip straight and pull 50% ull get everything or maybe lose a hook and the other well you know
But spinning again fixed spools cant be beatin I just got a xh4000 which was lovely and Ive never had a issue with.
