Decent Waterproof Jacket?

Fri Jun 24, 2011 1:17 pm

Hi,
Am looking to purchase a good breathable waterproof jacket for fishing. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I'm looking for something around the 50euro mark that is windproof and has plenty of pockets too.

cheers

You'd be hard pressed to get a rain jacket that will last for 50 euro. I'd avoid the fishing makes and look a helly hanson. I bought one recently for under 80 euros but that was on a deal.

Hi Stevo74, for that price range take a look at the Target Dry range of technical jackets, waterproof, windproof and breathable, got my one for work for around €49 in Landers in Tralee

It really depends on the reasons for Breathable clothing they only work best with the right under garments, for instance if you are going to be moving about a lot or walking big distances it doesnt matter what jacket you have you will sweat like a pig unless you have the proper sweat wicking clothing I would be inclined to buy good under garments from likes of under armour wear and then use light rainproof breathable clothing the secret is in layers  as for the ron thompson jackets   I bought a wading jacket in haste 2 years ago only to find out that it wasnt waterproof

Henry's have some stuff from Sundridge at very good prices. I could post a link but you'd be far better off popping in and trying them on. It's very easy to buy online and have a jacket to tight or to big.
