Shimano reels

I am looking for a new reel in the shimano range on ebay. I saw a Shimano Ultegra 5500 XTB Reel for 109 pounds and a Shimano Biomaster 8000 XTB for 99 pounds ex postage on both are they good prices ? and would the ultegra be big enough in the 5500 size?
they would be going with a sonik continental and a triplex 16ft.

i have two shimano navis lovely reel got mine for 115 euro

are they just a smaller model of the biomaster? do they have all the specks?

i find them really good, they have on spare spool and the biomaster has 2, it is the same size as the biomaster

It's about 150 plus postage for the biomaster then and I'm going to get two. It's a bit dear is there any other reels that are still good but cheaper e.g the aerlex.

i have the 8000 arelex or how ever you spell it great rell.u wont go wrong with a shimano and u want a good big reel for them rods.how do u find the continentals.i heard good reports about them

seen two biomasters out in tallaght rod and gun, today give em a ring and ask for stephen see if he will do you a deal on em

have two "biomasters XTA",absoliutly perfect reels,only diference betven "navi" and "biomaster" is bearings,"navi" has less,but dnt think it is big diference on da job those to models do,try to get XTA(not XSA)very handy thing...

sow in Cork fishing and outdoor shop on kinsale road for 130eu,very good price for "biomaster XTA",when u convert pounds to euros and put shipping on its gets even more..and other think u can do close look at them,and then deside is it good for u...

ye there really good, they have really good bite detection and are not stiff but still have some backbone, I have got 120 yards on them in the field and I'm only fourteen and not a great caster haven't got any big fish on it yet only a 5 pound thornie but I have brought in around 15 pounds of weed on it ! not very good at these reviews haha

thank for asking the shops around but I went to a few and I can get two biomaster xtas for 220 or I can get an ultegra (don't know which model) for about 140 or 150 each. Which would be better? Do the dearer reels last longer?

If your near Dublin you should try go to Hooked Live in Citywest tomorrow
All the main tackle shops have stands there and you will get a good deal on some of the reels your after, you can be sure that by tomorr afternoon the great deals will be to had as none of these guys will want to be packing gear back up and bringing it home

Hi i was in with Gary in Rods@Reels Dungarvan very good prices on the shimano range ,hes only opened a few weeks does bait aswell.

i have two biomaster xsa 8000 great reels u get 3 spools with them 8000 .7000. 6000. spools know pobs pulling ray tope bass of a beach

the 5500 ultegras are definately not too small for beach fishing, i have aerlex 8000s ultegra 12000s, aero technium 10000, the ultegra 5500 will be my next purchase.
better for lightline or braid.

know a couple of guys who use them on the likes of red metals and DH rods
