Original thoughts were for the Ron Thompson "Stratocaster" but it doesn't seem to have many reviews kicking around online. Can anyone shed some light? Or is this speaking for itself

But this list also seems reasonable, sub £150,and I think all have Fixed Spool versions. Length doesn't matter (ooh err) if anyone has any feedback.

ive the beach thoery. and i find it good for beach fishing.iv the short version and its gret for flatties and the like. its not really fit for the rough fishing and i find the short rod is not able for long casts or heavy weights. but i have the ian golds match internatational fixed spool rod. a class rod able to show the most lightest of bites and it will handle heavy hauling of big fish. look up paul mason on this site he deals in ian golds rods and tackle.

The salt is hard to beat for the money
I have a salt bass with the salt 060 fixed spool reel
Going to get the salt beach shortly
You can give these rods a good bit of stick on rough ground and they wont let you down
I use the salt bass for beach work in close and from piers I've had double shots of dogs with no problems
