van staal spinning reel...or something similar???

Sat Dec 25, 2010 12:43 pm

Hi Guys,
Was thinking about biting the bullet and getting myself a top quality spinning reel. I was thinking about the Van staal VS 100. Ok I know they are mega expensive but I put spinning reels through a tough time while spinning for bass. Has anyone any experience with these reels. Maybe I'm overlooking some other quality saltwater proof reels?
Thanks in advance
Barra

Hi declan...i'm just sick of wrecking reels...have had a few but i fall in alot...etc and think i might save in the long run...yea deffo have to meet up...not much happening for me fish wise...you doing much????
i can get the van staal for not much more than some of the shimano fixed spools and the spec seems to be much higher...love the fact that the reel is sealed and full of oil

I'm sick to of my shimano's ( stardics 2x4000 1x3000) giving up the ghost any time they get damp. maybe its just me but it seems that there's always one back at Felidre getting a service. Now the likes of a van staal 100 would be so nice but its out of my price range sorry to say.But I was thanking of one of these might do the job.

Good Morning luanaigh,

Give Carpets (Barry) a PM on this site. He uses a Van Stall, Stradic, Twin Power and Bronzino.

He will give you a fair and honest comparison on them.

Danny.

Seen them all fail over time - there is no saltwater proof reel - saltwater resistant yes - proof no....depends on how you treat them.
