i've started using them when i fish for thornies, they are a very good job. no need to wrap up your bait with loads of elastic thread, i will be getting a few more after the hol's i like the mini ones at 120g, they are very good and worth the money...

were they hard to use? does your snood not get in a knot if you coil it up in the tube

Excellent bit of gear which lets you whack out a big bait over distance or fish delicate baits with good presentation.
No probs with snoods as you dont coil them up, the photos here may help -

as thebigman said, you dont have to coil your snood. i use the d-vice on a pulley rig, i just make the snood about 3" longer than i normally would, so when you place your baited hook inside the tube you have a little bit of slack in your snood. you can blast it out with out blowing up your bait.

Well water gushes into the tube through the bottom when the dvice hits the water so you'd get away with using a single hook paternoster for general fishing, pulley for rough stuff, up and over for ray and the likes, wishbones for flatties. I'd say you'd get away with using most rigs that cast with the hooks clipped to the lead usually. Just pop the hook and bait into the tube as you would clip it normally.
