Waders

lads im not fishing that long but im trying to build up my collection ive found two good deals for waders but im not sure which to go for

any advice would be great.....

someone mentioned the sonic ones are top range ,i have some ron t breathable ones they seem ok if you are gonna be standing on surf beaches 4 mil seems ok also i think this should be in the q&a thread

well any of them so will do u fine if u just need them for warmth.i just done the same thing a week ago.i had the choice between the shakespeare or the snowbee.the snowbee were dearer but the tackle shop owner told me that they come back with more rip/tears so i bought the shakespeare.cant fault them.wen in the water u cant even feel the cold water no matter how long u stay in it.i think the ron thompson range is ok.u shud go for it.oh and i did hear that the sonik 1s r suppose to be the bees knees

i had a pair of the RT crosswater ones, the seams leaked like a tap after a few months of light use, and the soles were leathal in the wet no grip, stay well away from them

the RT ones dont seem to have the best rep

i used to have a pair of RT classic neoprene waders, they were a much better boot than the crosswater and they have better grip rubber in the soles.
my son has a pair of classic hip waders the last 4 years or so and still not bother with them dry as a bone.

if you can geta hold of the dark green classic's buy them

Just to clear up, im only a novice so dont plan on walking out into the water especially in the winter. its more for the heat and to keep ny feet dry from the odd wave that splashes your foot.

Then again im sure in time ill start walking out a bit further

chenz ive heard of the name but not much about them.i think there british brand and deal alot in the fly fishing sector.i do know that mullarkeys in the uk deal with them.hopefully some 1 on here will tell ya more or if not join http://www.worldseafishing.com. lot of lads on there will help u too

If you don't intend wading why don't you just get a flotation suit and pair it with a good pair of boots or wellies?

stay away from the snowbee granite anyway might be good if you dont
plan in getting them wet had to take back
2 pairs in 3 weeks do they make any ones that can keep out water

hi i have the Ron T waders and for standing on a beach and keeping warm that are a good job and if you need to wade out your covered. but if your planing on walking a long distance you will melt in them . maybe a floatation suit 2 piece would suit better. ?. look up you tube and floatation suit to see how they work. i just got a floatation suit and i cant fault it.

Try the marine shop in Howth for the rubber ones. They don't cost as much but are very durable. You will still need to layer up under them though but will keep you bone dry. I have the Focus ones think they were €60 but always wear thick socks and long johns in the winter

Don't forget that even though you might love the 5mm waders now come the spring/summer & autumn you might find you are sweating alot. I'd go for the 4mm and wear a pair of long johns, especially if you are walking any distance to your mark. Also buy some aquasure/stormsure or equivalent. The waders best friend.....
