Fixed spool beach caster

If money was no object what would be the best fixed spool beach caster to buy? I have a Century carbon metal sre multiplier rod, but am still a novice when it comes to multipliers and am a bit weary of using one in the dark because of birdsnests and would like a second rod for night fishing. I would also like opinions on the best fixed spool reel for beach casting. Thanks in advance for any help.

Stick a fixed spool reel on the CM and away you go.
I use a TT Lite with a FS and it casts perfectly

My favourite fixed spool rod is actually a Carbon Metal SRE that I built for fixed spool use with fuji low-riders to fish with braid.

Casts excellent and lovely bite detection as well.

the sre is rung for multiplier or fixed spool use,so you wont have a problem using either on this rod.as for which fixed spool reel to go for? you wont be disappointed with the shimano ultegra range,fine reels..

Thanks for all the replies, i had no idea my century rod could be used with both fixed spool and multiplier reels. That said i think i will still consider buyin a new rod anyway, im itchin for some new gear. I remember readin a review for a fixed spool rod in sea angler a while back that was somewhere in the region of 350 sterling but for the life of me cant remember the make or name of it. I want the best rod and reel combo i can get and am willing to spend up to 700euro, maybe more if i really like what i see

Mine is the 4,69meter version, used Fuji BLCAG low rider guides to prevent wind knots and because they're supposed to be great for braid. Reel seat is a Pac Bay Channel lock alu reel seat, might look a bit 'over the top' but it's actually pretty light and I don't have to worry about breaking it as well .

If you want to spend that much money on a rod, I suggest you just buy a decent blank, maybe the SRE if you like the rod alot and get it build by a rod builder in your area. This way you can have everything set up to your own likings incl reel seat height, guides, colours,... Normally it shouldn't be 700 euro and you can get a decent fixed spool reel with the rest of the money.

Thanks for the pics, rod looks great. How do ya find usin braid with it? Would ya not get a lot of false bites because of the braids low stretch properties?

I love fishing with braid, I'm using fireline at the moment. It's easier to see the bites but you do have to wait a bit before striking, you see every nibble but that doesn't mean the fish is hooked yet, I normally wait a bit between bites until I know for sure that the fish hooked itself.

I use braid all the time when lure fishin,its great, never tried it when usin a static bait though.

It really helps if you're fishing for smaller species at a distance, I wouldn't use specially for cod or bigger species but it's excellent for flatties and whiting.You feel every knock when reeling in and it gives you a rush when you see the intensity of those bites
