I hope im putting this in the right place ?

I got a nice small fishing bag in adli today for €12.99 i noticed a 12 foot telesopic rod and reel set for €24.99

http://www.aldi.ie/ie/html/offers/special_buys3_13707.htm

Just wondering has anyone used one of these rod or reels ? are they worth the money for a beginner fisher or is it money down the drain ?

Save your €24.99 for something that'll be more useful, like a chocolate fireguard or an ashtray for a motorbike.

Nice bag, though. Got one myself and I like it.

ha ha. Are they really that bad ? I knew something had to be up when it was only €24.99.

Yea the bag is great. Perfect for when ur fishing off rocks and space is limited.

The bag isn't bad and is actually almost identical to the Chub Snooper bag but half the price. The zips cease up but then they weren't intended for salt-water use and a spray of wd40 usually does the trick.

Got the rod holder bag which is quite good and the gloves with the finger flaps will come in handy in the winter. Wouldnt even bat an eye lide at the rods!

I recently watched a guy try to lift a spider crab (and it wasn't a monster) about 6ft with one of these beach casting rods and it snapped at the 3rd ring  . 'nuff said
