Have had the same problem. Happened quite a bit when I first got the rod especially when the sections were wet/or bits of sand in the part that you slot the rod section into. Seem to come apart no bother when dried out. Doesn't really happen at all now though.

As you said, not too bad when somebody there to give you a hand to take apart. A complete and utter mare when your on your todd on a winters night when your hands are frozen solid

Had same problem with a dawia.
Stuck in Galway with a rod that wouldn't come apart and wouldn't fit into the car.
Got some assistance from some locals to get it apart.

My mate told to rub some candle wax on the spigots for future use.
Hasn't ever got stuck again.

an old trick i learned was to crouch and grip each section of the rod either side of the joint with the back of your knees as you have much more strength in your thighs and pull it apart that way
works every time unless its really really really stuck or you have an eye really close to the joint getting in the way

Old old trick, rub the male spigot part against the side of your nose and
the grease will free the joint. Also your nose is always with you so
you dont have to remember to bring anything along.

I have the opposite problem DAIWA 12ft Whisker 3 piece cracked, no joy from Daiwa on a Fix
so Im thinking about superglueing the Bottom and mid section together permanently, at least
I will get some use out of the thing even if its a pain to transport.
