lead molds

got given about 7kgs of lead by the father in law last week and im thinkin of buyin a mold to make my own weights. ive rang round and can get 16kgs of lead that works out at 8cent an oz so might be worthwhile.
the main leads i use are 3/4/5oz grip leads.
any molds in particular that i should look for and any that i should keep away from??

Have a look at the namex moulds, they are comprable to breakaway impact leads but cheaper and easier to make

uk hooks have a new range of moulds out now and not a bad price have a look on there site.john

cheers lads, ive heard the namix ones are good but they only do 90g and 165g.
the ones on uk hooks are a bit pricey, to get the 3, 4 and 5oz it'd be €195 before postage.

Mould and accessory bits for 5 leads - £25.00
This mould kit allows you to make the Splash Down sinkers in either 130gm, 150gm or 170gm sizes.

The replacement accessory kit is £9.00 for 10 leads of either size.

I got this from henry's in dublin for about €35

i looked at them but the thing that put me off was that it will still cost nearly a Euro everytime i make a weight and thats not including the price of the mold, lead and gas. their meant to be a crackin lead tho.

great job the splashdown, you can buy the extras to use them as plain leads, fixed, uptide extensions,springy wires etc too,
