hi it seems on this forum that the top rod makers are zziplex, conoflex, and century but from prowling around ebay and the like that greys have a nice range of rods to suit all circumstances. i have owned a grx beachcaster for a short while and found it good value and quality. they have a lot more pricier rods aswell just they dont seem to get mentioned on here to often. is there something wrong with them or have they a bit of a reputation have yet to hear any of the casting lads mention them either

come on spill the beans

Have never owned a Greys Rod but know plenty lads who do and get on perfectly with them, I don't know of anyone who uses them casting as they are really designed for fishing and Zziplex are number 1 for casting rods, (most used that is) so like a sheep you follow the crowd!
If any rod does what you want it to do, it dosn't matter what make it is!

Seanie, I still have that grx and no problems what so ever. There was a discussion about greys rods on worldseafishing.com and alot of people were complaining about them snapping. hope this helps

Had a Greys PZ Match for a couple of years, lovely rod. Sold it on eventually as I replaced it with a Conoflex Source.

Hi Seanie
I recently got the Greys GRX-S 13ft rod and find it a great rod, will cover most ground that you are going to fish over with a lovely bite detection. The friend got the triplex 16ft rod around the same time and swears by it, he has it matched to a Shimano ultegra reel and reacons that it has improved his cast distance. Up to this had never used a greys rod but would definately continue with them now
Regards
Seamus
