Hiro Rod 12.6Ft

Mon Mar 29, 2010 11:35 am

Folks,

I just saw a post here of a Hiro brand rod. I was just on a tackle shop this weekend and was offered the Hiro 12.6ft 3 piece Rod for 75 Yoyos (new). I didn't take it because I am not familiar with the brand as well as how it performs. Can you please let me know if that is a good buy and if it is worth its price.

Thanks again.

Hi,

I have a Hiro Basic 13 foot beach caster as my second rod. I pair it up with a Penn multiplier and it works well enough. It's quite whippy and gives a decent cast. It's light enough to enjoy the smaller fish that are showing up on the east coast. It breaks down in three pieces and fits in the boot of my car which is important to me. I can't remember what it cost but it was somewhere around €60-€70.

There are many better rods out there but for the money it does the job.

Good luck,

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the info. I think I'll take that as well. Same with me I want to have it compact enough for the boot.

i have the hiro basic aswell as a second rod at times

pretty much the same as stephen in my views of it

in these recessionary times id try and haggle it down - it was 70 to me 2 years ago so surely it should be a bit less now

tight lines
