Reel's

Hi,

I currently have two decent spec reels that I used for coarse fishing and I was wondering if they could be incorporated in sea fishing or is it a big no no.

yea they would be fine for any work in the first 60 yards - wouldnt really get enough line on them to do anything at distance

grand to spin with id say also - after having a quick look

You might be able to use them for close in fishing when using light lines (12 - 15lb) on Sandy venues. I think you will need to go to a 8000 size reel for General beach work.

thanks lads,
what about spinning for bass? I was thinking of sticking some braid on them.

Hi Brendan

Had a look at your links, those reels look fine for spooling with braid and spinning for bass, sea trout and so forth, I use smaller reel than ths on my lighter rods.
