Spinning rod advice

All,

I am currently on the market for a spinning rod to cover salmon fishing when the water is too high or coloured to allow fly fishing. It would also be an added bonus if it could be used for salt water lure fishing, but it will primarily be used in freshwater. The only other criteria is that I would like at least 3 piece to cut down the size of it in storage.

So far I have been looking at the Greys X-Flite (3pc), Wychwood Truespin (2pc), Veal’s Mike Ladle Surespin (4pc) and also the older Greyflex M2 (3pc) which I have found at a great price.

Given my criteria, I think the X-flite and Greyflex are the best matched to my application – can anyone tell me whether the X-Flite is much better than the Greyflex? It is working out about 40 quid more expensive.

Finally, would I be right in saying that a 9’ rod would be most versatile? Casting weight around 15-35g.

Ended up making a purchase, Hardy Sirrus Spin 9ft 15-45g in 3pc. Told it's an all water rod that will handle salmon, pike and also salt water (providing cleaned after!). Should cover most stuff I'm likely to throw at it
