Hi,
Looking to get a pair of neoprene chest waders for the winter/spring and wondering if anyone got any recommendations (budget €50-€100) ? Also I fish mainly on beachs but sometimes off rocks so which sole is best all rounder- cleated or felt?
appreciate any feedback,
steve

I recently bought a pair of Snowbee Granites here in Cork for 90 euro. The thing I liked about them is the knee patches are in two parts at the knee joint and they use a higher thinner grade of neoprene, meaning that they're a lot more comfortable than my previous pair.

got given a brand new set of snowbee felt soles by a mate who didnt realise what a fat git he was when he bought them LOL - about 5 trips to the beach and the felt disintegrated - heels fell off and eventually soles came off altogehter - so would reckon standard cleated soles have to be better, wouldnt go for felt again

For fishing rocks I'd definately recommend studded soles, makes a massive difference. My mate is having problems as his are size 13, can't remember what make but they don't do the bigger size in studded and he misses them on the rocks.

I seem to go through a set of Neoprenes a year. None of them seem to last any further. Since they became affordable the quality has gone to Sh1t. I have heard good things about the snowbee granite, so they will be the next purchase.
As for the soles, if you do a little boat fishing or charter from time to time, the don't the the studded soles. They will trash a deck.
Felt is a huge no-no for sand. Even is washed, the sand eventually makes it's way into felt. It will harden the felt and eventuallty the sole will fall off. This is after weeks of walking on rock hard soles.
Get the regular boot soles. For those times when you need a bit of extra grip, get a packet of the screw in studs...

. This way of your ever out on a boat you can remove the screws. Best of everything
