Wayne I have the Greys Apollo M2 and it's a deadly rod for the rough stuff. She will allow some pulling when snagged and can deal hauling out tons of weed if it's about. Try looking for a second hand one though. You might get a nice bargain around on one since the M3 is out. It's a two piece rod though which might suit rough ground better. Oh and your a filthy manc

Hi Wayne
I have the Penn Ruff Stuff rod and its a great rod, only thing is, its a 2 piece rod but has tons of pulling power

ah wayne, seriously a 3 piece doest really exist, the zzipllex gb3 lite would be an option but as far as im aware their nigh on impossible to get hold off now. as youl be pulling out of snags the less joints the better in my opinion
a few rods i could suggest would be
greys apollo
conoflex nemisis slr
and zziplex dymic lt 14
tell the kids to **** off this christmas, papa wayne is gettin a pimpin rod!!

Agree with eric about the 3 piece rod thing, imo they are not suitable the realy rough stuff.For The lt 14 is a nice rod got one recently and the century carbon metal crest is a beast of a rod.The only problem is they both have a fairly long tip so dont fit in the car as well as your 3 piece rods, youll have to buy yourself a jeep aswell

get yourself a rt axe....has to be one of the best rough ground rods ever made...
some of the "pros" wouldnt be seen using anything rt but that is their loss. . .
you would have to jump on it to break it and not too expensive for a 3 times a year rod..
if however you are made of money get a conoflex tournament extreme 14ft
i did

(although im not made of money

)

i'd hav ta disagree, i use an enigma and a slr plus for all my rough ground fishing but in the past have used the axcellerator and rest assured it will match the conoflexs quiet comfortably. maby not having the longevity of them but if only used a few times a year it is more than sufficient

best advice i got all year was to buy the best you can afford! worked for me - and im glad i spent the money i did on my last rod.
