Century tip tornado sport

Thinking about purchasing this rod just wondering if anybody is currently using one or had one and what their feedback is,pros and cons etc.Or maybe a rod of similar spec they could recommend.I,m seeking a rod that can cast 4-8oz and with big baits with no worries of the rod buckling under pressure ,and fish easily over rough ground.
Cheers lads
Thx

The newer version or the older version?

I have the older version & I love it. The " J Curve" action isnt to everyones taste but I prefer it to a "C Curve" rod from a fishing perspective. I use it for Hounds and winter cod and I cant fault it and its not bad a belting a lead out either. Its more of a mixed medium ground rod imo. A Carbon Metal would be more suited to the rough stuff. The CM Express is a fine rod for the rough stuff.

lovely powerfull rod, certainly capable for whatever you throw at it, i used one for a while tope fishing and it was perfect for the job,
the only prob i found was it wasnt very forgiving if you were having a bad casting day  other than that v nice rod

i have the century carbon metal, it is my favourite rod by far, could not fault it, it casts brilliantly, has a lot of backbone and a great tip for bite indication! iv used it for shore conger and have caught them up to 12lbs on it and it feels like it could take more, you can clearly see all small fish bites such as pin whiting, have even caught grey gurnards to 10cms and the bite registered on the tip! whats amazing is the tip also manages to hold very well in the wind.Basically it is a brilliant all round rod that has a great tip but enough backbone for big fish or hauling big fish from weed ect. Honestly i cant fault it

I have been using the Sport ever since I got back from the UK where I tested a number of the Tip Tornado range.

The rod handles a broad range of weights and I have used it to get 200 gram leads away without issue.

Currently I have started fishing with it targeting Gummy Sharks ( Smouth Hounds ) , Snapper and Mulloway down here in Australia and like the rod alot for its ability to send the bigger baits and leads out well when matched to my SL30SH or Penn 525 Mag.

Here is some footage of me using the rod on the field for you to have a look at the way it loads.

have one of the new sports myself, though havent had a chance to test it properly yet, first impressions were mixed ground rather than some of the rough stuff i would normally use the likes of apollo mk2 on.
