Which multiplier?

I feel a late self acquired birthday present coming on. At the moment I'm using fixed spool reels with the beachcasters but I'm interested in buying a nice miltiplier for general shore and beach work. If you had to choose one around the €100 mark what would you go for? Any help would be appreciated.

Go for the reliable mag elite or similiar which you will get second hand for around 75 Euro if you fish mostly clean ground. Otherwise Penn 525 Mag again look for used to save money. If you buy from a reliable source such as people off this site you should be OK.

For clean beach fishing :
Original Black 7ht.
Ive 2 over 8 years old and are still in full service on the south east coast. I havnt seen a similar reel stand up to them over the same period of time.
Just my 2 cents

Have 2 original 7ht's bought them for buttons on ebay, both grand reels and have taken a lot of abuse, dropped in the sea, left in the sand, then in the box till I next go fishing, in 12 months I've only taken them apart a few times and given them a dose of WD-40.

Have a slosh 30 for my rough ground fishing, not that I do much.

Have also bought a green mag elite recently 2nd hand, the reel is like brand new and only cost me €60.

Cant say the mags seem to make much difference to me, maybe its just the way I'm using it  but it does feel a much more solid reel that the Daiwa's.

I'd certainly not buy a brand new reel, so long as you show due diligence you'll get a bargain 2nd hand if your patient. The 2 7ht's i got on ebay cost me around €35 each delivered. I didnt rush in and buy the 1st one I saw, I watched a good few auctions, showed a bit of patience, and eventually got mine cheap.
